Education and Care Studies
A career in the care sector brings its own rewards. It's an opportunity
to make a real difference to people's lives and to contribute directly
to the welfare of the community. The Centre for Education and Care Studies
at Adam Smith College is the biggest centre for care education in Scotland.
So, if you're looking to gain a formal qualification in care, we have the
widest range of courses to help you on your way. Options range from introductory
courses, through to the BA in Learning Difficulties/Disabilities – the
only one of its kind in Scotland. Other courses cover the following – Access
to Nursing, Healthcare, Childcare, Access to Primary Teaching, Community
Care, Social Care, Community Education and Counselling. Students can also
build up their qualifications in Core Skills and higher levels of study.
Within the Centre, under Special Programmes, we also offer a range of courses
for students with additional support needs to gain qualifications, improve
their confidence and learn new skills.
