Education and Care Studies

A career in the care sector brings its own rewards. It's an opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives and to contribute directly to the welfare of the community. The Centre for Education and Care Studies at Adam Smith College is the biggest centre for care education in Scotland. So, if you're looking to gain a formal qualification in care, we have the widest range of courses to help you on your way. Options range from introductory courses, through to the BA in Learning Difficulties/Disabilities – the only one of its kind in Scotland. Other courses cover the following – Access to Nursing, Healthcare, Childcare, Access to Primary Teaching, Community Care, Social Care, Community Education and Counselling. Students can also build up their qualifications in Core Skills and higher levels of study.

Within the Centre, under Special Programmes, we also offer a range of courses for students with additional support needs to gain qualifications, improve their confidence and learn new skills.
