The External Funding Unit (EFU) supports the College in sourcing and securing funding from a variety of external agencies. Funds are used to develop a wide range of services to enhance the learning experience.

The Scottish Objective 3 programme is a significant source of European funding, allowing us to help disadvantaged groups in the community who, for a variety of reasons, are excluded both economically and socially. This is achieved through five main policy fields, which are as follows:

• tackling long term unemployment
• helping young people and those at risk from not being able to find work
• improving training, education and counselling for lifelong learning
• encouraging entrepreneurship and adaptability in the workplace
• promoting equal opportunities and improving the role of women in the workplace
