Adam Smith College is gearing up to host this years Scottish World Skills UK Championships for technology. The event will see Scotland’s IT talent battle against each other for a place in the final to be held in Milton Keynes.

Pupils from Kirkcaldy High School have proved they are world leaders in creative digital media. The pupils have been involved in a unique project, ‘Digital Creator’ which was run in partnership with Adam Smith College and the British Computer Society (BCS) – The Chartered Institute for IT. The project was piloted at the school in 2009 and was such a great success that it is now being rolled out across the world including, Ireland, The Netherlands, South Africa and the US.

Adam Smith College was last night host to the annual Kirkcaldy Schools Careers Convention. As previous years the event was a great success and saw over 250 people come through the doors to talk with College staff and exhibitors. The convention which was actively promoted to all Kirkcaldy High Schools gave pupils, parents and the general public the opportunity to visit the College, some of whom may never been to the College before. The event was also attended by many other colleges and universities, the armed forces, training providers and employers.

Two Adam Smith College students, who are currently studying social sciences, were recently selected to take part in the Lessons from Auschwitz project. The project, which is run by the Holocaust Education Trust, has been set up to take students on a journey of learning and exploration while educating them on the history of the Holocaust.
