Fashion students took to the catwalk in a fashion show hosted by Asda in Glenrothes, and showcased their creative collections including a unique Pudsey style dress designed especially for the event.

The brief was to create a unique and creative piece of clothing or outfit which incorporated this year’s main fundraising accessory, the Pudsey bandana, but students from the HND Fashion Design and Manufacture course decided to go one better and create an actual Pudsey style dress.

The successful event raised £339 for Children in Need. The fashion show was just one of many events undertaken by Adam Smith College students who have been busy all week raising money in time for Friday’s event.

Shoppers in Kirkcaldy’s High Street were in for a treat when celebrities including Stavros Flatley, Lady Gaga, French Maid, Snow White and Captain Jack Sparrow turned up to collect money for Children In Need.

The celebrities, otherwise known as Scott Nicholl, Mary-Ann McLauchlan, Kayleigh Keddie, Nicholle Thain and Ian Munro are all drama students and collected £133 from generous shoppers on Friday afternoon.

Students studying Preparing To Care also raised over £70 selling cake, candy and friendship bracelets to staff and students in the College’s St Brycedale Campus.

Students in the College’s Leven and Glenrothes Campuses have also taken part in a range of activities including ‘wear your pyjamas to college’ days.

An amazing £400 has also been raised by two groups of students from the College’s Priory Campus in Kirkcaldy, NQ Legal Services and NQ Human Resource Skills. The human resource students did a sponsored walk in pyjamas in the rain while the legal students dressed up and went around the college collecting money. The groups did this as part of a unit on organisation, teamworking and citizenship.

Total raised by students so far is - £942 which is expected to go well beyond the £1,000 mark
