Carbon Coaching – Adam Smith College To Help Businesses Get Fit!
15 March 2010
Adam Smith College is to help local businesses reduce their fuel bills and emissions by holding a FREE Carbon Coaching event at their Stenton Campus in Glenrothes on Friday 26th March.

In partnership with the Carbon Trust, Adam Smith is the first college in the UK to complete the Carbon Management Programme and is committed to a 25% reduction in its carbon footprint over a five year period.
The College is already seeing the benefits of this through reduced energy bills and is keen to share their experiences with other organisations and businesses during Business Week (20th to 26th March) to help them make the same type of savings.
Ian Harrington, Vice Principal of Adam Smith College said, “We are undertaking a series of major investments and changes to address our own carbon and emission reduction levels and we are also committed to supporting those in the renewable industries sector.
The Carbon Coaching event is an excellent way of us being able to share good practice with companies and organisations throughout the Kingdom and introduce them to the Carbon Trust, a Government funded agency.
Our new £16m centre being built at our Stenton Campus in Glenrothes is also testament to the Colleges commitment to renewables and low carbon technologies which will be at the heart of our new facility when it opens to students in August this year.”
Warren McIntyre from the Carbon Trust added, “Companies and organisations should be looking carefully at carbon management, not just to save money but also to ensure they are helping to protect our local environment and achieve Scotland’s CO2 reduction targets. We are very much looking forward to meeting businesses and organisations in Fife and offering free help and advice to enable them to operate more efficiently and effectively.”
The Carbon Coaching Event will run from 11.30am to 1.30pm and is open to all companies and organisations however large or small.
Registration and coffee will take place 11.30am-12noon followed by a presentation 12noon-1pm and lunch 1-1.30pm.
