Childcare
Adam Smith College Nursery, located on our Priory Campus off Victoria
Road, Kirkcaldy, is a 45-place private nursery caring for children aged 2 to 5
years on a full-time
or part-time basis. Parents are mainly students and staff of Adam Smith College
but there are some private customers.
Purpose-built over two floors, the nursery
provides a safe, happy, stimulating and caring environment. We offer a full
range of activities necessary for
your child to develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually
— with the emphasis on fun! The large, fully enclosed rear garden allows outdoor
activities on a daily basis.
The nursery has been running for 12 years
and in that time has become a very popular and highly rated service to students.
Financial assistance for registered childcare is available for students
and pre-school funding is available for 3-5 year olds.
Staff
- 1 adult for every 5 children in the 2 to 3 years room;
- 1 adult for every 8 children in the 3 to 5 years room.
We take children to local places of interest, such as a pet shop, library, fire
station, train station, and surrounding areas.
All Staff are qualified and experienced in childcare and early education.
Opening Times
Monday to Friday from 08:15 to 17:00.
The nursery operates Monday to Friday and is open 50 weeks of the year
(closed for 2 weeks at Christmas and 1 day each term for in-service staff training).
Parental Involvement
The nursery actively encourages partnership between parents
and staff, aimed at developing a strong relationship that will benefit your
child, you and the Nursery. Pre-registration visits and free short trial periods are available.
Social Events
The children take part in many social events at the Nursery, celebrating
festivals, birthdays and seasonal activities.
Curriculum
As we are 'Partner Providers' with Fife Education Service, we follow
the same curriculum framework from birth to three years and from three to
five years.
