Electric Guitar for Kids 8 Years and over

Beginners

This course is suitable for complete beginners or those who have a little knowledge of electric guitar. The course will help you understand how the electric guitar functions, how to play the electric guitar to a basic level, and how to get the correct sound from equipment for different types of music. The course is delivered by a working musician with 25 years experience in the business. It is in fact, Adam Smith College's own 'School of Rock'.

To empower the student as a musician and prepare them for being in a band in the future or studying guitar at a higher level. The course aims to get students to understand the iconic nature of electric guitar and use the guitar as a form of expression like a paint brush and paint. The main aim though it to rock!

Students will need an electric guitar and small amplifier (battery or mains), a tuning reference eg pitch pipes, tuning fork or electronic tuner.
