HND Sound Production

"The music industry is one the UK's biggest and most culturally significant creative industries" (Department for Culture Media and Sport). This two-year course prepares sound engineers for possible routes to employment including Music, Film, Television, Radio and Computer Games industries.

Sound Engineers and Producers need a broad range of skills and a good balance of creativity and technical ability. This nationally developed course aims to give you opportunities to acquire industry recognised skills and knowledge using state-of-the-art equipment.  The delivery staff are passionate about audio and music.

We are Scotland's only Digidesign Pro Tools Pro School.

Please Note: It is not a requirement that applicants are musicians.

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 2 Highers including English and 3 Standard Grades from Maths, Physics, Computing at Grade 3 or above
  • Relevant NQ course and Standard Grade Maths and English at Grade 3 or above
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
