NC Higher Technical Theatre

This new SQA Group Award has been developed to offer students an intensive and practical course with appropriate skills and knowledge in all Theatre Production areas from Stage Management, Lighting and Sound to Set and Costume Construction. Designed with a core set of units and wide range of options, the course can be tailored to the needs of each learner.

Practical Projects

Throughout the course you will be taught the theory and techniques within each production department, which will underpin all production work. You will undertake the roles of Assistant Stage Manager, Lighting and Sound Assistant and Costume Assistant on the in-house and touring productions and projects within the department.

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 4 Standard Grades including English, Maths and basic Information Technology and Literacy
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
